Last week, officers at the City of Doncaster Council were informed that the City Council has been successful in securing funding, through the Government’s Levelling up Fund round 3 programme, for over £17,000,000. The funds will support planned regeneration in North Doncaster which includes Mexborough, Moorends and Woodlands. Since 2019, DLA have been working with officers at City of Doncaster Council, councillors, stakeholders and the public to prepare a transformational town-wide regeneration strategy. The proposals looked at a range of interventions including the creation of a new public park, enhanced public realm, extensive new tree planting, improved provision for walking, cycling and public transport as well as brownfield development and heritage-led renovation projects. DLA led a multi-disciplinary team comprising architects, engineers and quantity surveyors to prepare costed proposals that were used to assist officers in preparing and submitting funding bids.
